Dallas Playwrights Collective is a recurring workshop for individuals interested in playwriting. Metamorphosis facilitates this artistic community fostering the growth of new and up-and-coming playwrights in DFW. We support select participants by providing the resources for staged readings that are presented throughout the season. This program’s mission is to discover new voices in our community and strengthen our fight against institutional oppression. Morph Meta Education is a semester-long after school and summer program designed for urban youth in the city of Dallas. Many urban youth struggle with self-hate and internalized oppression. Morph ME implements a curriculum that is inspired by Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed and Rainbow of Desire. The purpose of this curriculum is to offer youth the tools to uncover their own internalized oppression and ultimately cast it aside. Youth learn the skills and tools needed to be productive and successful members of society. Social-emotional health is cultivated and job skills training is emphasized.
